Zohan had some hilarious moments. I almost lost it when he swims like a dolphin chasing the jet ski. And how he quickly takes the gun apart was funny. They should have made an unrated version called You Don't Fuck with the Zohan. lol

The Devil's Double (2011)

He hated Jews, horseflies and Persians but he hated Kuwaitis more... he loved his country, his mother, his father but he loved *unt more than he loved God...

Dominic Cooper does an excellent job of playing Uday Saddam Hussein & Latif Yahia in this highly fictionalized account of Latif's story as Uday's body double.  Think Scarface gone mad (yes, more crazy than Tony) with much more power and money set in 1990s Iraq instead of Miami.  The movie is highly sensationalized but Cooper's performances are powerful despite the fictionalized accounts of Uday's exploits.

I enjoyed this movie, maybe you will too.

Some time ago, I watched the trailer for this comedy titled, Movie 43. Well, not all of it. I saw it in its entirety this past weekend at the theater and I laughed my ass off! The film consists of numerous segments and features an all-star ensemble cast that includes Halle Berry, Richard Gere, Kate Winslet, Chloe Grace Moretz, Johnny Knoxville, Kristen Bell, Emma Stone, Stephen Merchant, Jason Sudeikis, Seann William Scott, Elizabeth Banks, and many, many, more. Banks also serves as one of the directors on a list that includes Brett Ratner, Griffin Dunne, and Peter Farrelly, among many others. The film comes out on January 25, 2013:

Im not gonna lie. I thought Abe Lincoln Vampire hunter was a fun movie to watch. Maybe not the most realistic movie, but I think its creators intended for it to be that way maybe

Also, Out of all the Spider Man movies I thought the most recent "Amazing Spider Man" was the best one. I liked the cast, I liked the story.....It just kinda annoys me how everything has to be a huge coincidence. Parker falls for Gwen. Gwen works at Oscorp, where Parkers dad worked. Gwens father is the cheif of Police........Cmon man in a city with 12 million people theres no way Ur gonna have that many coincidences. thats kinda annoying
Oh and the whole thing with the cranes on 6th avenue was pretty much the gayest thing ive ever seen
Other than that, great movie.

Really? so we cant discuss that? the movie is like 3 months old though, isnt that long enough?
Its a great theory, im dying to explain it....LOL not that anybody gives a shit

Well it was anyone, when I saw it I left saying it was the prequel to Alien, The alien at the start would probably show what would come at the end. It's been a while since I saw it.

I have seen a number of movies I have enjoyed this year so far, some not so much.

The Girl with the dragon tattoo was a great story and some good bits of action.

Men In Black 3, it was better than two and answered the questions, so that should end that one.

Avengers Assemble, I enjoyed that but at times was predictable.

The Dark Knight Rises wasn't bad, but wasn't really that good either, it did what it could.

I saw The Sweeney, it was a TV show in British telly in the 70s. I really liked that one (and it had a top gear UK reference as well).

Skyfall that came out on Friday there, I really enjoyed. It was different to the past few Bond films, which was good. It made a bond film different to other of that genre. I dont want to ruin it, if any of you go and see it.

THE STAND (2013)

No wait, I mean ARGO (2012).  This was a really good movie IMO (I dont feel like saying why right now, I'm watching football).

I will say Ben did a good job of adapting the real life story of the hostage rescue of American foreign service workers in Iran into an entertaining Hollywood movie.

Given his body of work as a director so far, I am confident he can do THE STAND justice.  The only troubling story I heard is that Jennifer Lopez is dying for a role in the film... Lets hope thats not true!  I don't think Ben would give in anyway, after all he didn't give his wife a role in ARGO even though she wanted in (reportedly).

On the weekend I went to see Wreck-It Ralph, I happened to see, for the first time, the full trailer for the upcoming film, Oz:  The Great and Powerful, a movie I learned about a long time ago. The film is clearly a prequel to The Wizard of Oz, and it features James Franco as Oz (yes, that Oz), a street magician and con man with higher aspirations who is swept into that magical world that we all know. Of course, seen in this film are a couple of familiar characters, most notably Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, who is played by Michelle Williams. Mila Kunis appears in this film as Theodora, who considers herself a "good witch," and Rachel Weisz appears as her sister Evanora. Now Weisz's Evanora appears to be in the "bad witch" category, but it is not clear whether she is the Wicked Witch of the East, who later gets crushed by a house, or if she's a younger version of the Wicked Witch of the West. Either way, it would mean Theodora would be destined to be evil as well. One thing I do know, is that according to Mila Kunis herself, her character does cackle in this film, which is directed by Sam Raimi, who was the man behind the Spiderman trilogy that James Franco took part in as Harry Osborn. Franco and Kunis have worked together in the past, doing so in the comedy, Date Night, in 2010. The film comes out on March 8:

I was really hard on TDKR when I first saw it.  While I still think it's not Nolan's best BY FAR, the second time I saw it I liked it much more.  I think the first time I had all these expectations in my head of how I wanted it to be so of course I was going to be dissapointed.  The second time I saw it I accepted Nolan's vision more and even though there is a mountain of flaws and things I don't like, its not a bad movie at all.  Maybe it will be perceived by many in the future like Godfather III, highly criticized but basically misunderstood.

Warning: This list expresses the opinion of a true cinephile.  Squares, numb nuts, dullards, and those who lack true grit need not read..  List only considers movies I've seen in a movie theater during 2012

LOOPER - My favorite movie of the year... Alphaville, Firestarter, Bladerunner, Akira, 12 Monkeys, and now Looper.  This is an instant (cult?) classic.

MOONRISE KINGDOM - Cutest movie of the year.  Reminds me of when I was 15 - anyone who fell for the crazy redheaded girl can relate.  "I love you but but you don't know what you're talking about"  Kara Haywood & Jared Gilman OWN the show in an all star cast including Bill Murray and Bruce Willis

KILLER JOE - Most psychotic movie of the year... Watch out for Juno Temple, she was nothing in TDKR but her she is a tour de force! Unbelievable...

THE AVENGERS - Best action movie of the year (how would I know its the only one I saw!)

BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD - Wildest movie of the year!

THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY - Best epic fantasy of the year

LINCOLN - BEST MOVIE OF THE YEAR

NOT YET SEEN... Life of Pi, Les Miserables, Silver Lining Playbook, The Perks of being a Wall flower, and Wreck it Ralph

Didnt see any of those U posted except Avengers, and not in the theater
Based on the movies I saw Id have to give Lawless the best movie of the year
TDKR and Prometheus were also great movies imo
Id have to give Abe Lincoln vampire hunter a thumbs up for best surprise. thought it was gonna be dumb, it actually had a good story even if it was a little far fetched at times.

Cant wait for Lincoln, and dont know what Looper is, but ive seen it mentioned on other sites.

I forgot about LAWLESS, and I'd agree its one of the best of the year. I'd include that in my previous list.  That was my favorite movie of the year before I saw LOOPER.

LAWLESS - Not flawless... but Nick Cave comes through again.  Its somewhere between Public Enemies and The Untouchables for me (good company nevertheless)

IMHO HONORABLE MENTION of 2012:

The Hunger Games - Great adaptation of the novel; Jennifer Lawrence continues to shine after a great debut in Winter's Bone

The Master - One of the best performances of the year is by Joaquin Phoenix but I guess I didn't "get it" enough to like the movie as one of my favorite movies of the year.

The Dark Knight Rises - Not as corny the second time around; fitting end to the trilogy
